These 1.2 meter tall units are also optimised for top-of-the-line home theatre main speakers in a modern Digital THX® sound system. Utilising Peerless HDS series of high definition phase-plug drive units matched using bespoke crossovers to a high-end Danish made tweeter. Packaged in an innovative and exclusively designed cabinet constructed in Australia with extra-bracing and a 20Kg sand chamber for stability. The HDSK455 is professionally developed to create an audio reproduction experience that is clean and clear with uncompromising acoustics. The superior dynamic range and frequency bandwidth will accurately reproduce any of today’s demanding high definition digital sources. The countersunk tweeter in the coaxial location between the mid-woofers achieves a physical acoustic time alignment between the drivers. This corrects the sound source location to one single point in space, like focusing a lens, to achieve an incredible level of clarity and accuracy to the sound stage bringing the audio into clear focus. Instruments are localised and positioned, close your eyes and they are there! Sound effects take on a new reality when positioned correctly in space. Now the full impact and emotion of Movies and Music can enthral the listener. An impressively high efficiency of 92dB at 1W/M means you don’t need big amplification for full dynamic audio. Along with the well-behaved impedance curve means the HDSK455 is quite suitable for the lower power class-A or vacuum tube amplifiers. Or hit them with high power. Open voice coil, large magnet and phase-plug, low compression with over 2 Inch exertion cone drivers will translate high power amplification into high SPL to fill medium to large rooms with ample pristine audio sound. The tall handsome cabinets are precision computer tooled from MDF locally and are finished in a durable black hard vinyl with a grain finish. A wide base tapered plinth is included, spiked feet are optional extras. There is the facility for sand filling in a lower cavity for additional stability and extra resonance damping. Peerless offer highly articulate dynamics in their driver designs, matched with a unique cabinet layout and use of premium components in a professionally developed crossover.
