Asko Washing Machine Drum Rib – Paddle Lifter

Replacement drum rib, also called the paddle or lifter, for Asko front loading washing machines. These are the three raised vanes inside the stainless drum that pick the washing up and drop it as the drum turns. They are plastic and they crack, and once one breaks the sharp edge starts tearing clothes.

When to Replace a Drum Paddle

• Clothes coming out torn, snagged or with grease marks
• A visible crack, split or missing corner on one of the vanes
• A paddle that moves or rattles when you push it by hand
• Loud knocking from the drum during the wash
• Washing coming out poorly cleaned because it is no longer being lifted and dropped properly

Fitting

Turn the machine off at the wall. The paddles clip and screw to the drum from the inside – reach in through the door, release the clip at one end and slide the paddle along its track to free it. Fit the new one the same way round and make sure it locks home. Nothing else needs to come apart. Turn the drum by hand a full revolution before running a cycle to confirm the paddle is seated and clear of the seal.
