This is the genuine Bosch filter unit for the Unlimited Serie 6 range of cordless stick vacuum cleaners. It is the cylindrical micro/motor-protection filter that sits inside the dust container and traps fine dust before the air reaches the motor.

When should you replace it?

• Suction has dropped off even though the dust container is empty and the brush bar is clear — the usual cause.
• The vacuum runs louder or the motor sounds strained, or it cuts out early on a full charge because the motor is working harder.
• Fine dust blowing out of the exhaust, or a dusty smell while vacuuming.
• The filter stays grey after washing, has torn pleats, or the rubber seal has hardened or split.
• Routine replacement. Bosch recommend replacing the filter roughly every 6–12 months depending on use, even if you wash it.

Care tips

• Tap the filter out after every few empties — most suction complaints are a clogged filter, not a failing motor.
• If you rinse it, use cold water only, no detergent, and let it air dry for a full 24 hours before refitting. Fitting a damp filter is the fastest way to ruin it and to make the machine smell.
• Never run the vacuum without the filter fitted — dust goes straight into the motor.
