Neff Wall Oven Cooling Fan Motor

This is a replacement cooling fan motor, also called the tangential blower, for Neff and other BSH built 600mm wall ovens. It is not the fan inside the oven cavity. It sits behind the control panel and draws room air through the oven housing and out of the vent above the door. Its job is to keep the door glass, the electronics and the surrounding cabinetry at a safe temperature while the oven is hot.

When To Replace

Replace the cooling fan motor when it is noisy, rattles or screeches while the oven is on, when the fan does not run at all and the oven front and the cabinetry above it get very hot, when the fan keeps running long after the oven has cooled, or when the motor is seized and the fan will not turn by hand. A failed cooling fan can trip the oven on over temperature and will eventually damage the control board.

Fitting

This part must be fitted by a qualified appliance technician. Isolate the oven at the circuit breaker before starting, not just at the control panel. Withdraw the oven from the cabinet, remove the top or rear cover to reach the blower housing, photograph the wiring, then release the mounting screws and the connector and lift the motor out. Fit the new motor the same way round, reconnect the wiring in the same order, refit the covers and check the fan runs when the oven is switched on.

Notes

BSH has flagged this part as discontinued without a replacement, so once current stock is gone it may not be available again. If your oven needs one, it is worth ordering while it can still be had.
