We replace all these parts because we find that the valves last longer between services. The parts deteriorate due to heat and wear. The parts are listed in order from the back of the valve forward as per the picture. Orings and gaskets are also colour coded. This reduces the risk of incorrect installation. We advise that the valve is tested for the correct turning direction before it is reinstalled in the machine. Do one valve at a time. As with any valve, they should be serviced as soon as they leak, do not leave for long as the seat will wear away and the valve body will also need replacing Ensure that you use a good quality food grade grease that doesnt dry out. This will help extend the life of both seals and the brass internals. I find it is best to use a food grade, oil based grease, for valve lubrication, one that doesnt dry out when hot. I use Haynes Lubri film plus for all non rubber seals, metal and plastic lubrication. Be careful using any silicone based lubricants on coffee machines,because they can damage the silicone seals. |
