Bromic Automatic Changeover LPG Gas Regulator Kit 400MJ Dual Cylinder

This is a Bromic automatic changeover LPG regulator kit for two cylinder installations, rated at 400 megajoules per hour. It draws gas from one cylinder at a time and switches automatically to the reserve cylinder when the first one runs empty, so the gas supply to the appliances is not interrupted. An indicator on the body shows which cylinder is in use and when the first one needs changing.

Rating

400 MJ/h capacity, LP gas (propane). Outlet pressure 2.75 kPa nominal, which is the standard Australian domestic LPG appliance pressure. Suits twin cylinder installations using standard POL connections.

Feeds cooktops, ovens, gas hot water units, space heaters, barbecues and instantaneous water heaters up to the total 400 MJ/h rating.

When To Replace

Replace the regulator when the changeover no longer switches to the reserve cylinder, when the indicator stops working, when appliances burn with a lazy or yellow flame or drop off under load, when gas can be smelled at the regulator, or when the regulator has reached the replacement interval marked on its body. LPG regulators have a limited service life and are normally replaced every ten years regardless of condition.

Fitting

In Australia this work must be carried out by a licensed gas fitter and the installation must comply with AS/NZS 5601. Both cylinder valves must be closed before the old regulator is removed. The new regulator must be fitted with the vent pointing down and shielded from the weather, the pigtails must be the correct length and free of kinks, and the installation must be leak tested and the appliances checked for correct operation before the system is returned to service.

Notes

Check the total gas load of your appliances before ordering. The combined input rating of everything connected must not exceed 400 MJ/h. Do not use this regulator on natural gas. It is for LP gas only.
