Delonghi Fisher & Paykel Kleenmaid Lofra Oven Bottom Element 2050W

This is a replacement bottom element for Delonghi, Fisher & Paykel, Kleenmaid and Lofra ovens, rated 2050 watts. It sits under the floor of the oven cavity and supplies the base heat used in conventional baking and, on most models, in the fan bake and pizza settings as well. Like all resistance elements it fails by burning through, and it will normally show a blister, split or a bright burnt spot in the sheath where it went.

When To Replace

Replace the element when the oven will not reach temperature or takes far longer than it used to, when food browns on top but stays pale underneath, when there is a visible blister, split, bulge or bright burnt spot in the element sheath, when the element reads open circuit on a meter, or when it has shorted to earth and is tripping the safety switch. An element that has arced usually leaves a scorch mark on the cavity floor beneath it.

Fitting

This part must be fitted by a qualified electrician or appliance technician. Isolate the oven at the circuit breaker, not just at the control panel, and let the cavity cool completely. Lift out the base plate or floor panel to reach the element, remove the fixing screws, ease the element forward and photograph the wiring before disconnecting the terminals. Transfer the connections one at a time to the new element, refit and secure it, then carry out an insulation resistance and earth continuity test before restoring power.

Notes

The 2050 W rating matters. Check the wattage stamped on your existing element and the terminal spacing against the replacement before ordering, as these ovens used more than one base element across the range.
