Dishwasher Main Door Seal

Genuine main door seal for Dishlex, Electrolux, Westinghouse, Simpson, Chef and IKEA dishwashers. This is the gasket that runs around the tub opening and seals against the inner door. When it hardens or tears, the machine leaks down the front of the door and out onto the floor.

Symptoms Of A Worn Door Seal

• Water running down the outside of the door and onto the floor
• Damp or swollen cabinetry either side of the machine
• Water pooling under the front feet after a cycle
• Seal hardened, flattened, split, or shrunk away from the corners
• Mould or black staining along the seal that will not clean off
• Door feels loose or does not compress the seal when latched

Fitting Notes

Isolate the machine and turn off the water first. The seal pushes into a channel around the tub opening. Start at the top centre and work down both sides so the join finishes at the bottom. Do not stretch it to make it reach - a stretched seal pulls out of the corners within weeks. Wipe the channel clean of old grease and food before fitting.
