Oven Lower / Bottom Heating Element 1600W - 900mm Ovens

The bottom element sits in the floor of the oven cavity and does the base heat on bake and pizza settings. When it fails you get pale, undercooked bases while the top still browns, longer cook times, or no bottom heat at all. A failed element usually shows a blister, a split, or a bright scorch mark on the coil.

If your model is not listed, check the wattage and the fixing centres on your old element before ordering. Same wattage and same fixing centres means the same part.

Fitting

1. Isolate the oven at the wall or the switchboard. This is a mains voltage part.
2. Remove the oven shelves and the base plate covering the element.
3. Undo the fixing screws, draw the element forward, and note which wire goes to which terminal before disconnecting.
4. Transfer the wires one at a time to the new element so they cannot be crossed.
5. Refit, replace the base plate, and restore power.

All electrical parts must be fitted by a qualified person.
