When To Replace

Replace the flow switch when the unit reports a flow error and locks out, when it will not start heating despite the pump running, when it runs briefly then trips, or when the switch stays made with the pump off. A failed flow switch usually shows as a repeating flow or water circuit fault code on the controller.

Fitting

Isolate the unit electrically and shut the water circuit isolation valves before starting. Drain down to below the switch, note the wiring, unscrew the switch from its tapping, fit the new one with fresh sealing, refill, vent the circuit and check for leaks before restoring power. Fitting should be carried out by a qualified refrigeration or hydronic heating technician.
