Symptoms Of A Failed Fan Motor

• Oven heats but food cooks unevenly, browning on one side only
• No air movement heard from the back of the oven when fan forced is selected
• Loud rattle, grinding or squeal from the rear of the oven
• Fan runs slowly, intermittently, or only once the oven is hot
• Motor hot to touch, burnt smell, or the oven trips the circuit
• Cooling fan runs but the cavity fan does not turn

Fitting Notes

Isolate the oven at the wall before starting. The motor is accessed from the rear of the oven after the outer back cover is removed. Note the orientation of the fan blade and the wiring positions before disconnecting. Fan blades are commonly reverse threaded on the shaft. All electrical work must be carried out by a qualified person.
