OEM Genuine

This is an OEM genuine part. It is made by the original equipment manufacturer, the same company in the same factory that made the part fitted to your appliance when it was built, and it carries their part number. It is supplied to us without the appliance brand retail packaging, and that is the only reason it costs less than a boxed part bought from the brand. The part itself is the same part.

How To Identify Your Handset

The handset model is printed on the back of the remote, or under the sliding cover. If your old handset is marked ARC452A1, ARC452A2, ARC452A3 or ARC452A4, this handset is the correct replacement. Daikin supersedes within the ARC452A family, so a later suffix replaces an earlier one.

When To Replace

Replace the handset when buttons no longer respond or need to be pressed hard, when the display is blank, faded or showing missing segments with fresh batteries fitted, when the unit does not respond to the remote although it works from the indoor unit button, when the battery contacts are corroded, or when the case or sliding cover is cracked or broken.

Setting Up

Fit two fresh AAA alkaline batteries observing the polarity marked in the compartment. Set the clock and the day, then point the handset at the indoor unit within about seven metres and press ON/OFF. If the unit does not respond, check that nothing is blocking the receiver window and that the batteries are the correct way round. Some models require the address to be matched if more than one indoor unit is in the same room.

Notes

This handset covers a wide range of the FTXS and FTKS series. Check your indoor unit model number, which is on the label behind the front cover, against the model list above before ordering.
