Safety And Fitting

This is a mains-voltage part and must be fitted by a licensed electrician or a qualified appliance technician. Isolate the oven at the wall and prove it dead first. The element is usually held by two screws inside the cavity roof with the terminals behind the rear panel. Photograph the wiring before disconnecting, and check the terminal insulation and the wiring tails for heat damage while you are in there - a burnt tail will take out the new element too.
