The waveguide cover is usually found near the magnetron within your microwave. The waveguide acts as a barrier against moisture and food particles, whilst protecting the inside parts of a microwave. The wave also helps to prevent spread heat and hazards that could occur when your microwave is heating food up.

Waveguide covers can break due to reasons such as food and grease build up, moisture , poor cleaning and handling. You should always get a replacement when burn marks, cracks, chips or unusual smells occur.
