Dayton Audio 2K-LPF-4 Low Pass Speaker Crossover

Dayton Audio 2K-LPF-4 second-order Linkwitz-Riley low pass crossover board. It rolls the signal off above 2,000 Hz at 12 dB per octave so a woofer or midbass driver runs only in its intended band. Fully assembled and ready to wire, no soldering of components required.

Part Numbers

  • Dayton Audio 2K-LPF-4
  • 2K LPF 4
  • 2KLPF4
  • Parts Express 260-1852

Specifications

  • Type: passive low pass filter, second order Linkwitz-Riley
  • Crossover frequency: 2,000 Hz
  • Slope: 12 dB per octave
  • Nominal impedance: 4 ohm
  • Power handling: 250 W
  • Inductor: 0.64 mH air core
  • Capacitor: 10 uF
  • Board size: approximately 100 x 60 mm
  • Terminals: dual 0.205 in quick connect, input and output
  • Mounting: PCB with EVA foam backing

Where It Is Used

  • Two way speaker builds and repairs where the woofer needs a 2 kHz low pass
  • Rebuilding a failed or missing crossover in an existing cabinet
  • Car audio and home audio 4 ohm woofers and midbass drivers
  • Pair with a matching 2,000 Hz high pass filter to complete a two way system

Wiring

Connect the amplifier output to the input terminals and the woofer to the output terminals, observing polarity. The board handles up to 250 W and is designed for a 4 ohm nominal load. If your driver is 8 ohm the effective crossover point will shift upward, so match the filter impedance to the driver.

Please Check Before Ordering

Crossover frequency, slope, impedance and power rating must all match your driver and cabinet design. If you are unsure, contact us with your driver details and we will help you confirm the right filter.

Notes USE IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER LOW PASS AND HIGH PASS CROSSOVERS This 2nd order (i.e. 12 dB per octave) low pass Linkwitz-Riley filter from Dayton Audio passes frequencies below 6,000 Hz and can easily be combined with other filters in this series to create 2-way or even 3-way crossover networks. Designed for use with 8 ohm drivers. - High quality air core inductors in series with the driver High quality components are securely fastened to PCB Frequencies can be staggered or overlapped for desired response High quality red PC board with EVA backing to prevent shorts and vibration Dual 0.205 terminals at each connection point for easy parallel wiring - Dayton Audios premium inline passive filters make it easy to limit a drivers frequency response to a specific desired bandwidth. By using combinations of these filters you can create complete 2-way or 3-way crossovers. The components used in each of these are the same high quality you have come to expect from Dayton Audio. This 12dB/octave 6,000 Hz low pass filter can be combined with our 6,000 Hz high pass for a 2nd order Linkwitz-Riley crossover, which sums for flat transfer function across the crossover frequency. In addition, you can stagger or overlap filter frequencies to overcome peaks and dips in individual drivers frequency response to create crossovers that acoustically sum flat across the crossover point.
