Asko Dishwasher Drain Pump

Replacement drain pump for Asko dishwashers. This is the pump that empties the machine at the end of a cycle. When it fails the dishwasher fills and washes normally but will not empty, and you are left with water standing in the sump.

• 581830 – Asko part number
• G581830 – the same number with the Asko prefix used by some suppliers

Our SKU for this item is RPP_0047592. This is an OEM quality replacement pump, not an Asko-boxed part.

Suitable Brand

• Asko

• Asko DBI653IB.S.AU, DBI653IB.BS.AU, DBI654IB

Asko machines carry a model, a serial and an Art. No. on the sticker inside the door. If your machine is not on this list, send us all three and we will confirm the pump before you buy.

When to Replace the Drain Pump

• Water left standing in the bottom of the machine at the end of a cycle
• The dishwasher stops mid-cycle and reports a drain fault
• You can hear the pump humming but no water moves
• No sound at all from the pump at the drain stage
• The pump runs loudly or rattles – usually broken impeller vanes

Before replacing the pump, check the filters, the sump and the drain hose for a blockage, and check the outlet at the sink trap. A blocked hose gives exactly the same symptoms and costs nothing to clear.

Fitting

Turn the dishwasher off at the wall and turn off the water. Bail out any standing water before you tip the machine, or it will run out onto the floor. The pump is reached from underneath, so the machine has to come out and be laid on its back. Release the pump from its housing, note the wiring before you unplug it, fit the new pump with its seal seated properly, and run a full cycle to check for leaks underneath before pushing the machine back in.
