Robinhood Oven Fan Forced Element — 2000 W

Replacement fan forced (circular) oven element for Robinhood built-in ovens. This is the ring element behind the rear baffle plate, around the fan, that does the heating in fan-forced and fan-bake modes.

A note on wattage — 2000 W supplied

The original element in some of these ovens was rated 1800 W. The element we supply is the current 2000 W equivalent, and it is the correct replacement.

Your oven will not run hotter. The temperature is set and held by the oven's thermostat, not by the element. The thermostat switches the element on and off to maintain whatever temperature you dial up. A 2000 W element simply reaches that temperature a little sooner and then cycles off a little sooner — the oven still settles at exactly the temperature you selected.

Electrically it is a small step. At 240 V an 1800 W element draws 7.5 A and a 2000 W element draws 8.3 A — under one amp more, comfortably within the rating of the oven's wiring, terminals and circuit.

It fits the same. Same ring, same mounting bracket, same terminal arrangement as the part it replaces.

Symptoms Of A Failed Element

  • Oven will not heat in fan forced mode, but grill or bake still works.
  • Food cooking unevenly, or taking far longer than it used to.
  • Oven never reaches the set temperature.
  • Visible break, blister, split or burn mark on the element ring.
  • Element glowing only along part of its length.
  • Circuit breaker or RCD tripping when the oven is switched to fan forced.

Fitting Notes

  1. Isolate the oven at the wall or switchboard before you start. This is mains-voltage work.
  2. Remove the racks and the rear baffle plate to expose the element.
  3. Photograph the wiring before disconnecting the terminals.
  4. Withdraw the element, transfer the wiring, and check the terminals are tight.
  5. Check the fan spins freely and the door seal is intact while you have it apart.
  6. An RCD that trips on fan forced usually means a leaking element - replacing it fixes both faults.
  7. All electrical items must be fitted by a qualified person.
