Samsung Clothes Dryer Inner Door Frame Including Spike And Start Pin

This is a replacement inner door frame for Samsung heat pump clothes dryers. It is the moulded inner panel of the door, and it is supplied complete with the spike, also called the start pin, that pushes into the door switch when the door is closed. That switch is what tells the dryer the door is shut and lets the cycle start.

When To Replace

Replace the inner door frame when the spike has snapped off or worn short so the dryer will not start with the door closed, when the frame is cracked around the hinge or catch, when the door no longer latches or springs open during a cycle, or when the lint seal face of the frame is damaged and lint is escaping around the door.

Fitting

Isolate the dryer at the power point before starting. Open the door and remove the screws around the inside edge of the door that hold the inner frame to the outer skin. Separate the two halves carefully, noting the position of the glass and any seal, transfer the glass and seal to the new frame, then reassemble and tighten the screws evenly so the door is not distorted. Close the door and check it latches, and that the machine will start.

Notes

The spike is a wear item and is the usual reason this frame is replaced. If your dryer will not start but the drum turns freely and the display lights up, check the spike and the door switch before ordering anything more expensive.
