St George & Kleenmaid Fan Forced Oven Element - 2200W Circular, Terminals Apart

This is the circular fan forced element that sits behind the rear baffle inside the oven cavity, encircling the convection fan. It is the element that does the work whenever you select fan forced or fan bake. St George catalogue it under the factory code GB120000, and it is rated 2200W at 240V with a diameter of about 195mm. The terminals point straight back, which is where the trade description "terminals apart" comes from. We supply the current triple ring construction, which lasts considerably better than the older two-ring type.

OEM Genuine. This part is made by the original equipment manufacturer - the same factory that produces it for the brand - and carries their part number. It is the same component, supplied without brand-name retail packaging, which is why it costs less than buying the boxed part through the brand.
Please check before ordering: There are two St George fan elements with the same 2200W rating and the same 195mm diameter, and they are not interchangeable. The rough rule is: DEO, UEO and UES models numbered 1, 2 or M9 take this element. The DEO and UEO 5 through 10 series take a different element - 2546 / SE120 / ES4454, factory code VG250000. So DEO7A, DEO9A, DEO10A, UEO7, UEOM7, DEO3, WEO5, WEO6, WEO7, FEC3, FEC4 and similar are not covered here. The tell is the mounting: this element has mounting holes at 215mm and 235mm spacing with the terminals pointing straight back, while the other one mounts on a fixed bracket with holes 48mm apart. Measure yours before ordering. Also note DEO1 without a suffix is not the same as DEO1A - the plain DEO1 takes the other element. Kleenmaid-branded TO-series ovens are European built and do not use this part at all. The fan motor is a separate item (50862 or 50922).

Fitting Notes
Isolate at the switchboardThese ovens are hard wired. Isolate and confirm the appliance is dead before touching anything.
Licensed workWork on fixed wiring is licensed electrical work in every Australian state and territory. Getting the oven out means disconnecting fixed wiring - budget for a licensed electrician.
Test before you buyA healthy 2200W element reads roughly 24 to 27 ohms cold across the terminals. Open circuit means failed. Any continuity from either terminal to the sheath means failed and dangerous - replace it even if the resistance reads fine.
Remove shelves and runnersTake out the shelves and side rack sets first for clear access to the back wall.
Rear baffleRemove the three or four screws holding the baffle plate in the back of the cavity. Count and photograph them.
Fan blade nutIf the baffle will not clear the fan blade, the blade nut has to come off. On many fan ovens this is a left hand thread - do not force it before you check.
Terminals are behindThe terminals pass through the rear cavity wall and are reached from behind, so the oven usually comes out of the cabinet and the rear cover off.
Check the mountingFit with the terminals pointing straight back and confirm the mounting holes line up at 215mm and 235mm. If they do not, you have the other element.
Spin the fanTurn the fan by hand and check the element loop clears all the way round before you refit the baffle.
All the screws backRefit every original baffle screw - missing ones cause rattling and airflow loss that mimics an element fault.
