Universal Rangehood Carbon Odour Filter Foam Sheet 1200mm x 500mm Cut To Size

This is a universal activated carbon odour filter sheet with foam backing, supplied as a 1200mm x 500mm sheet that you cut to fit your rangehood. It is used in recirculating (ductless) rangehoods, where the extracted air is filtered and returned to the room rather than vented outside. The carbon absorbs cooking odours and grease vapour that the metal grease filter does not catch.

Suitable Brands

Universal fit. Suits recirculating rangehoods from Ariston, Baumatic, Blanco, Bosch, Chef, Delonghi, Electrolux, Emilia, Euromaid, Fisher & Paykel, Glem Gas, Hotpoint, Ilve, Indesit, Kleenmaid, Miele, Neff, Omega, Qasair, Robinhood, Schweigen, Siemens, Smeg, St George, Technika, Venini and Westinghouse, plus most other brands of ducted or ductless canopy, undermount, slideout and integrated rangehoods.

Suitable Models

All recirculating rangehood models that use a cut-to-size carbon filter pad. Because the sheet is cut to size, it is not model specific. Measure the carbon filter cavity or the old filter pad in your rangehood and cut the sheet to match. One 1200mm x 500mm sheet will usually make several filters.

When To Replace

Replace the carbon filter when cooking smells linger in the kitchen, when the rangehood airflow drops, or when the pad has gone dark and stiff with absorbed grease. In normal household use a carbon filter lasts about three to six months. Carbon filters cannot be washed and reused. Washing destroys the activated carbon and the filter will no longer absorb odour.

Fitting

Isolate the rangehood at the power point or circuit breaker. Remove the metal grease filters to reach the carbon filter housing. Take out the old carbon pad and use it as a template, or measure the housing. Cut the new sheet with scissors or a sharp knife, fit it carbon side toward the fan, refit the grease filters and restore power.

Notes

This is a universal aftermarket filter sheet, not a branded moulded cartridge. If your rangehood uses a round or shaped plastic-framed carbon cartridge that clips onto the motor, this sheet is not the correct part for it.
